This past summer, Biome performed an independent wind tunnel aeroacoustics assessment at Deutsche WindGuard GmbH at their acoustically-optimised large wind tunnel in Bremerhaven, Germany. The test measured the impact of our patented FeatherEdge noise reduction technology. The tunnel offered high wind speeds at low levels of turbulence, together with the most advanced drive and control techniques for ideal conditions for acoustic research and development. Results showed a broadband noise reduction of up to 4dBA across several angles of attack, with a peak reduction of 7dBA. These promising results point towards the need for field test validations, which will be occurring in the coming months.
